● Deputy Head of the Management Department of ‘Passenger Traffic’ Business Unit, OAO ‘Russian Railways’ (OJSC), M.L. Artemov:
‘We were interested in the report of M.M Erikhov, Ph.D., on the proposed multi-price technology for increasing the collected revenue. At the same time, we would like to note that the initiative to introduce a new pricing policy in accordance with the current legislation should belong to the Governments of the regions where the service is provided by suburban passenger companies (SPC). In this regard, we will monitor your work on pricing optimization together with the Sverdlovskaya SC as weel as the Government of the Kurgan region and, if it is successful, we are ready to recommend it for implementation by other SPCs’

‘... Our company specializes in retail sale and delivery, small and medium-sized wholesale of a wide range of spare parts for imported forklifts from Balkancar, OSAKA, Hanghca, Toyota, Mitsubishi and others, as well as of electrical and hydraulic equipment. Since April 2017, the company has been introducing a multi-price fare payment system on its routes by introducing a line of limit electronic tickets, single and multiple. When analyzing the types of travel tickets, as well as their cost, the company used the software-methodological complex «Calculator of optimal discounts» (COD), created under the leadership of M.M. Erikhov, Ph.D. at the Kurgan branch of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
During three months of work, the use of the ODC complex allowed us to increase the collected revenue by 6%. Currently, the task is to switch all routes of the company to the system of electronic travel tickets with optimization of their cost and the number of trips. In addition, since July 2017, OOO Transservis (LLC) has begun replicating and transferring multi-price technology to other carriers in the city of Kurgan. Currently, it is planned to expand the range of such travel cards by introducing long-term (up to one year) travel passes, as well as to negotiate with transport companies in other regions of Russia ...’
